Facing Fear

How do you respond in the face of fear?

Me-I like to run and hide, pull a blanket over my head, and just hunker down. But I have been challenged over this last week to actually stop and look at some personal fears, to face them, to name them, and to start learning how to deal with things in spite of them. Not an easy task for me but I did my homework. Like Atreyu in the NeverEnding Story, I looked into the mirror of my soul. Unlike Atreyu, I am not innocent or untroubled, but I was able to do it and to complete my homework. I still have a long way to go in facing fears, and maybe one day I will actually be brave!

For now, I will continue to take it one step at a time.
